A manager at Jennings Mazda has a one in three chance of scooping a national award after being shortlisted in the MotorTrader Industry Awards 2010.
Chris Nixon, franchise manager at Jennings Mazda’s Riverside Road dealership, just off Wessington Way in Sunderland, has been shortlisted in the ‘Sales Manager of the Year’ category of the prestigious awards, which are held on an annual basis.
The category highlights the pivotal role played by sales managers in franchised and independent sites. Entrants needed to show how they have implemented and led successful sales programmes and excelled in customer satisfaction and retention.
Chris was entered into the awards by some of Mazda’s management team who have been so impressed with his dedication and commitment not only to his job, but also the team at Jennings Mazda in Sunderland.
Chris Nixon, franchise manager at Jennings Mazda in Sunderland, said; “I have an absolutely dedicated and committed team here at Sunderland and being shortlisted wouldn’t have been possible without their continuous hard work. It’s been a team effort.”
Chris went on to say; “I was totally unaware I had been entered into the awards, so it came as a bit of a shock, but a rather pleasant shock, to find out I had been shortlisted and through to the finals.”
The official award ceremony will be taking place at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Wednesday 14th July 2010.
Loyal and dedicated Chris started working for Jennings Motor Group in 1997 when he was appointed as a sales executive and was based at the group’s former Ford branch in Washington.
Over the years, he has worked his way up the ranks from sales executive, business manager and sales controller to his current position of franchise manager.
Overseeing JenningsMazda’s Wearside operation since its official launch in June 2003, not only involves being responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch, but also a team of sales and administration staff, in addition to ensuring monthly and quarterly sales objectives are met.
Initially, Jennings launched its Mazda operation within the former Ford dealership in Washington in 2003, but in 2006 they transferred to purpose-built, state-of-the-art premises on Riverside Road in Sunderland.
The Sunderland branch provides the whole Mazda range including the Mazda2, 3, 5, 6, MX-5, RX-8, CX-7 and BT-50, which is readily available for customers to test drive.
